International Day of Yoga 2026 was celebrated at South Asian University on 21 June 2026 in collaboration with the Ministry of Ayush. Held under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Aging,” the event brought together students, faculty, and staff to promote health, well-being, and the benefits of yoga for a balanced and active life.
The celebration was chaired by Hon’ble SAU President Prof. K.K. Aggarwal and renowned academician Prof. Saroj Aggarwal. In his keynote address, Prof. Aggarwal emphasized that yoga is not merely a form of physical exercise but a pathway to self-awareness, inner balance, and spiritual well-being. He also highlighted the importance of promoting yoga across South Asia to foster healthier and more harmonious societies.
The event featured a captivating performance by young yoga artists, who demonstrated various asanas with remarkable grace, discipline, and skill. The performers were felicitated and presented with awards by Hon'ble SAU President Prof. K.K. Aggarwal; Prof. Saroj Aggarwal; Prof. Ritu Gaur, Vice-President (Strategy and Innovation); Prof. Deepa Sinha, Proctor; and Prof. Navnit Jha, Dean of Students’ Welfare; Registrar Dr Ravindra Kumar Soni.
