South Asian University, with its mandate of a shared vision for SAARC member states, has extended its efforts to offer best healthcare practices. In this regard, a hybrid meeting of health experts from India and Sri Lanka was organized by FLSB, SAU on 2nd May in the President’s Board Room. The Hon’ble SAU President, Prof. K.K. Aggarwal, chaired the meeting. Prof. M. Srinivas, former Director of AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi), Adjunct Faculty at FLSB SAU, and a full-time member of NITI Aayog, delivered a talk on "Elevating Healthcare & Medical Education in South Asia."
Healthcare experts from different regions and domains of Sri Lanka joined and actively participated in the discussion. Prof. S. Adhikari, former Chairman of UGC Nepal; Prof. Ritu Gaur, Dean, FLSB; and Registrar Dr Ravindra Kumar Soni graced the meeting. Dr Jitender Nagpal, Senior Paediatrician from Sitaram Bhartia Institute of Science and Research, New Delhi, along with members from the SAARC Secretariat and UNICEF, also shared their views.
Experts from Sri Lanka appreciated this initiative and expressed their willingness to collaborate on public health programs. A pressing need for an exchange program between India and Sri Lanka was also proposed.
